Our ears have been blessed this week by some of today's best R&B talents.
So much great new music has dropped recently in the R&B world. So we put together a quick list of some of the best gems we’ve heard this week. Listen to the YAMS playlist, and get put on to your new favorite song below!
Durand Bernarr’s new album ‘BLOOM’
Durand Bernarr is one of the best vocalists in R&B music today. His music is free, theatrical, and expressive – all things that make his take on soul music exciting to listen to every time he drops. Durand’s new album BLOOM is especially amazing, with irresistible dance moments alongside jaw-dropping soul ballads. Get ready for a ride!
Coco Jones – “Taste”
Coco Jones samples Britney Spears’ classic hit “Toxic” on her sexy new single. Get ready for her debut album, Why Not More, which drops on April 25.
Leven Kali – “Are U Still”
Leven Kali is an all-around genius in music. He’s responsible for writing songs like Beyonce’s “VIRGO’S GROOVE” and Snoh Aalegra’s “Time” – but do not sleep on his original music. “Are U Still” is another testament to Leven Kali’s ear for musicality; and to his great voice! The production is funky and hypnotizing, as Leven talks about his infatuation with a lover. We’re going to have this track on repeat for a while.
Bren Joy’s new album ‘SUNSET BLACK’
This week, musicality has been at the forefront of our favorite releases. Bren Joy’s new album, SUNSET BLACK, showcases a true artist in his element. It’s an eclectic body of work that spans genres but feels oh-so-cool. Give this one a listen, and prepare to be wowed!
Mereba’s new album ‘The Breeze Grew A Fire’
Aptly titled The Breeze Grew A Fire – Mereba’s sophomore album feels like an easy listen. A breeze. It’s a project that sees Mereba very confident and introspective, while not trying to be anything that she isn’t. We love that.
